Mother Daughter Challenge

I did this mother daughter challenge and we really loved it so I decided to share it with you all. 

The Challenge goes like this:

We will spend (fill in the blank with a certain time, ours was 30 and 20 min) a day in quiet prayer and Bible reading during the next 4 weeks.  We commit to doing this for five out of every seven days.  If one of us misses more than two days in a week, that person will (fill in the blank, ours was clean the other persons room) for the other person.  If we meet our goal we will get to go to (fill in the blank, ours was going to the Parlour). 

We did this Mother Daughter Challenge and did make it to the Parlour for ice cream!  It was a great time to celebrate what we had accomplished and a time to spend together just the two of us.

I am starting a new challenge with my younger daughter and I am changing it just a bit.  The reading time will be lessened because she is younger and will be reading from a devotional book and a few verses.  This is a great way to really build in your child a great dicipline of reading the Bible!

I came upon Dannah Gresh’s books and have enjoyed them.  I read Six Ways to Keep the “Little” in Your Girl, and really enjoyed the read.  This challenge idea was from 8 Great Dates for Moms & Daughters
